Kate Ivey’s existing website was built using WordPress. She also had a separate ‘DediKate’ app that pulled information across. The app had quickly gained popularity, and soon Kate discovered her technical solution was no longer fit for purpose. A quicker, stronger, and more scalable solution was needed. After an in-depth Discovery process we were able to map out priorities and objectives for current members, staff, and potential subscribers. These included; the ability to plan workouts and set reminders, display what workouts other members have done, workout intensity indicators, offline functionality, create and save favourite food recipes and have the ability to log fitness testing, goals and measurements (just to name a few). A Progressive Web App (PWA) was the obvious solution as it combines all the features and benefits of a native app and a best-in-class website.
The Result? Kate and her team now have a user friendly technical solution which makes uploading new content easy. The platform withstood growth from 2000 to 5000 users over a few weeks without a hitch. Subscribers were treated to a new and improved user interface that makes it easy to find workouts, nutritious recipes, and save their favourites to a favourite section. The super fast platform means zero lag on workouts and advice videos. New users are introduced to the site/app in an online tour which shows them around the platform and guides them to start working out.
