It’s an idea that can be at once both premium and fun, with compelling imagery, quirky headlines and interesting textures.
Celebrating Excellence, Innovation and Success
The Champion Canterbury Business Awards recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation, and success of businesses and charities in the Canterbury Region. The vision is to ensure the Awards is the most positively recognised and prestigious awards programme in New Zealand, accessible to all businesses in the Canterbury region regardless of their size or industry. As the creative partner, Harvey Cameron has been tasked with theming the Awards since 2011.
The Awards had their biggest number of entries in 2015 and, while attracting enough entries for all 9 categories is important, for 2016 quality of entrants was a focus to ensure the Awards are seen as premium and in order for there to be depth for the judging. The Awards are all about recognition and celebrating business success so acknowledging this was a key, as well as representing the attributes of business contribution though excellence in service, innovation, commitment, ideals and ethics.
The chosen theme for 2016 was ‘Stand Up, Stand Out which draws on the idea of ‘Business Instincts’; the innate ability our region’s business leaders have to sense an opportunity, overcome challenges and prevail, even in the most competitive environments.
The theme, utilising animals dressed in formal attire, gave us plenty of scope to create engaging collateral and copy, including print advertisements, flyers, online material, function theming and materials, sponsor, finalists and winner’s packs, and a theme that was able to be leveraged for a truly memorable night out.
2016 was one of the best years for the Champion Canterbury Business Awards with over 190 high quality entries and over 1,250 guests in attendance at the Awards night. The Business Instincts theme culminated in a fabulous evening showcasing the best of Canterbury business amongst tribal drumming, wild animals and an appreciative and sophisticated audience, including numerous high profile guests.
